Christmas is only days away, have you got your holiday communications sorted for whilst you are away from the office? It’s important at this time of year to keep your customers up to date. A lot of businesses stop their marketing during the holiday period but now is the perfect time to keep up with your marketing, so you stay in the minds of your customers whilst they are on break. The holidays are a great time of year to think about making the most of your marketing to attract and engage. Here are our tips on how to keep your marketing up during the holiday season.
1) Christmas Newsletter
Many companies are already sending out their Christmas newsletters which is great to see! Sending a Christmas newsletter allows you to inform your customers about your holiday hours and say a thank you to them for sticking by you during the crazy year that we have had. Christmas newsletters do not need to be jam packed with content, something short and sweet to remind your customers that you care.
2) Schedule social media posts
There lots of amazing applications out there such as Hootsuite that allows you to schedule content in advanced! Scheduling content is a life saver during the holidays as you can have peace of mind knowing that you have content going out on your channels without you having to post them during your time off! Scheduling a short Merry Christmas post to go out on Christmas Day is a nice way to wish your customers a great day with their loved ones! If you are away from the office for a decent period of time this is a great tool to have planned content going out.
3) Blogs
Blog posts can take some time to get ready but if you create some holiday themed posts in advanced you can schedule these to go out on specific days as well! Lots of people are on leave during the Christmas and New Year break and whilst they are on leave a lot of people get bored and end up spending more time scrolling social media and reading content online, keeping up with your blogs over this time gives your audience something to read and gives your company some exposure. Most companies will have a break from their blogs and social posts during this time, however if you decide to keep it up it gives you an advantage over your competition. Christmas is a great time for holiday themed content, some ideas include holiday recipes, gift guides, and the list goes on.
4) End of year reviews
Companies such as Facebook, Google and Spotify all promote great end of year review content for users in the lead up to the holiday season. Timely updates are a great way to attract attention. Create a social media post reviewing the past year your company has had or share with your customers some interesting stats about the year you have had, this is a great way to keep your clients in the loop and makes for some interesting content.
5) Email signature and out of office automatic reply
If you have not done so already now is a good time to set up an out of office reply email with your holiday hours, this way if people contact you over the break they know when you will be returning to the office. Changing your answer phone message and updating your hours on Google my business are also great ways to cover all grounds so wherever customers try to reach you they will know your holiday dates. If you are working throughout the holiday period updating your email signature and including a short sentence about your hours during this time is also a nice and simple way to keep people informed.
